Headaches and Migraines

Headache pain can be attributed to a number of underlying conditions.

Tension type, Migraine and Cervicogenic headaches (headaches resulting from neck dysfunction) are the most common forms of headaches and can significantly decrease quality of life. Headaches can also come from TMJ (jaw) problems, shoulder issues or upper back problems.

Recent research has shown that a specific physiotherapy guided treatment program is effective in reducing disability and increasing quality of life for these types of headaches.

Physiotherapy aims to successfully diagnose your headache type, rule out other reasons for your headaches and create an individualised treatment and home program to assist with this.
